Melissa was a Georgian College student in the Travel and Tourism program.

Paulo was a Georgian College international student from Brazil.

Melissa and Paulo were selected for the 2017 Social Innovation and Cultural Exchange project, were they completed their co-ops by visiting Asia for 11 weeks to help promote Georgian College. They visited over 20 cities within three countries, including China, Thailand and Viet Nam.

Doris was an international student at Georgian College from China in the Business Marketing program.

Shannon was a Georgian College student in the Human Resource Management, graduate certificate program.

Doris and Shannon were selected for the 2018 Social Innovation and Cultural Exchange project. They traveled around Asia for six weeks on a jam-packed schedule, helping to promote Georgian College.

Asia 2018 – Week 4

Week 4 – Dongying, Beijing

Hello everyone! After our visit in Jinan, we took a 3 hour train ride to Dongying, which is the youngest city in China! It’s population is around 2 million and it’s well known for its oil production! Almost everywhere we looked, there were fracking sites! We made a presentation at Shengli- New Zealand School and sat in on two classes with an American and Canadian teacher! We additionally made another presentation to parents and their children who have interest studying abroad in Canada. Week 2- Guangzhou, Foshan, Nanning, Xi’an and Baoji

As you can probably see from the title of this post, we’ve visited a lot of cities within the past week: Guangzhou–> Foshan–> Nanning was our first big trip in week two. Asia 2017 – Week 8 & 9

Week 8 & 9 – Xian – Baoji – Nanjing – Suzhou – Shanghai

Yes, you read the title correctly! Four train rides, one flight and a lot of coffee! Five cities in two weeks. These past two weeks have been very busy and productive week for our project. We have had many opportunities to share more about what life is like as a student at Georgian College this week and have yet again met so many amazing students, parents and staff in East Asia.
